This disc has all of the essential Rod Stewart classics. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Rod Stewart energies, virtually a rebirth. This is the first studio album from Rod Stewart since bad diagnosis in 2001. This album is a scorcher!
You can find feelings on this piece of art. Music and lyrics of Some Guys Have All The Luck creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. This track is full of harmonies and gets The Story So Far: The Very Best Of (CD 1) off to a relaxing start. Rod Stewart offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. What Am I Gonna Do (I’m So In Love With You) hits the heart. Hot Legs - A classic Rod Stewart track. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on The Story So Far: The Very Best Of (CD 1). Downtown Train - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Motown Song from the beginning to the end. This Old Heart Of Mine (Is Weak For You) is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Tonight I’m Yours has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Don’t judge Ooh La La on the first listening. I Can’t Deny It which is my favorite is a truly Rod Stewart sounding song. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Stay With Me is really the reason why I recommend buying The Story So Far: The Very Best Of (CD 1).
