This album has some very good songs like T’Aimer Follement (Makin’ Love) and Va Petite Etoile. On Les annees Barclay - Vol.4 - Les enfants du Piree album, Dalida have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. There were many famous songs of Dalida available. IT makes me wanna dance!
Va Petite Etoile is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Dalida released so far. Dans Les Rues de Bahia (Too Much Tequila) is a excellent, simple song by Dalida at the top of his game. Dalida is hitting on all cylinders in Romantica. De Grenade Seville is probably the highlight of the album. Petit Clair de Lune (Tintarella Di Luna) (2:42) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. The song Arlequin de Tolede ending is my favorite… so catchy! Comme au Premier Jour is another favourite of mine. S’ Endorminr Comme d’Habitude is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. This track is clearly meant to showcase Dalida’s vocal abilities. Charming song, great melody. I have all of Dalida’s tracks and C’ Est un Jour a Napoles is probably the most his introspective effort. Plou Pilou He defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Bonheur (2:42) a good melody. Itsi Bitsi Petit Bikini (Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot …) is the albums biggest surprise. Dalida allows each song to breathe and flourish. Lyrics of Bras Dessus Bras Dessous (Why) are precise and evocative. Ni Chaud Ni Froid (Johnny Kissed a Girl) is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Douce Nuit, Sainte Nuit rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. NoBlanc (White Christmas) is the albums biggest surprise. Petit Papa No is the most memorable and excellent. In Vive le Vent you won’t find any flashy solos. This track is full of harmonies and gets Les annees Barclay - Vol.4 - Les enfants du Piree off to a relaxing start. In Joie d’Aimer (Unforgiven) the music gets its power. Simple and heartfelt closing track Ciao Ciao Mon Amour (Angel of Love) closes Les annees Barclay - Vol.4 - Les enfants du Piree on a high note. If you are a Dalida fan, you will love Marrons Chauds.
