After seeing Suzanne, I had to have a good Leonard Cohen cd. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Leonard Cohen on ‘Suzanne’. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Leonard Cohen energies, virtually a rebirth. Smart music for smart people.
This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. It’s such an underrated song. Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbyen - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. So Long, Marianne is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Bird on a Wire one of the best in my collection. The Partisan is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. Best song on the album, love it. Strong, powerful vocals of Leonard Cohen in Take This Longing are very impressive. What sets Who by Fire apart is Leonard Cohen’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. I love the melodic melody of The Guests and to this day it makes me feel good. Hallelujah had me crying as I was able to relate so well. I like the agression and power of If It Be Your Will. Night Comes On is a perfect, simple song by Leonard Cohen at the top of his game. I’m Your Man has a fun tempo. After about the third Everybody Knows listen through, I began to believe this song is Leonard Cohen’s essence. Tower of Song gives taste of what makes Leonard Cohen special as a musician.
