Since Gilbert O’Sullivan last CD (The Very Best of Gilbert O’Sullivan) on Columbia Records back in 2003, I have felt a massive void in my life. This -song debut EP shows the promise that Gilbert O’Sullivan has. Since completing 2003’s ‘Alone Again Naturally’, Gilbert O’Sullivan fulfilled their contract with Columbia Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Great Rock right here!
At the Very Mention of Your Name - A strong beat. Can’t Think Straight - Peggy Lee, Gilbert O’Sullivan is a astounding, simple song by Gilbert O’Sullivan at the top of his game. I listened to the opening track Claire and liked it a lot. Dear Dream is one of the best records ever. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. I Wish I Could Cry is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I’ll Believe It When I See It I just LOVE this mix! Lost a Friend is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Matrimony is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Within the first few notes of No Matter How I Try it’s perfectly clear that Gilbert O’Sullivan is living this song. Nothing Rhymed is the funkiest number on the album. Ohh Wakka Doo Wakka Day is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Ooh Baby stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. You can find feelings on this piece of art. What’s in a Kiss - To me, this is the best song on the The Very Best of Gilbert O’Sullivan. Why, Oh Why, Oh Why one is one of the better boring ones. You Are You - For me, this is the best of the album.
