This album has some very good songs like Key of the Twilight and Cynical World. Since Yuki Kajiura last CD (Fiction) on Mute Records back in 2003, I have felt a massive void in my life. Bun B. Hear has compared writing for Yuki Kajiura’s new album to that on ‘Fiction’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Fiction is the best essence of Yuki Kajiura.
Song Cynical World is actually a funny song. Fake Wings is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. There is marvelous mix of music in Fiction. This song may be the most meaningful. I’ve found myself listening to red rose back to back and back many times. Once you hear Canta Per Me, you will listen to it over and over. This is one hell of a track. Awaking defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Open Your Heart is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Winter still maintains something of a specific flourish. Salva Nos - For me, this is the best of the album. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. echo - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Yuki Kajiura.
