On My Own Destruction album, Ellegarden have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. While no new Ellegarden album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2002 tour in Australia. Lead single “(Cant Remember)How We Used To Be” and “Under Control” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Under Control
My Own Destruction couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Under Control. A unique and uplifting song. If you are a Ellegarden fan, you will love Mouse Molding. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Japan Title as a highlight of My Own Destruction contains a ton of excellent melodies.
