Since completing 2001’s ‘Headed For A Heartbreak’, Winger fulfilled their contract with Mute Records and where under no obligation to release another album. The Very Best of Winger is an amazing album, racked with beauty. This disc has all of the essential Winger classics. Another great offering from Winger.
I was truly moved when I heard Madalaine. Listening to Hungry you can hear that Winger has still amazing chemistry with band members. Some call Seventeen from The Very Best of Winger as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Rainbow In The Rose the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Easy Come Easy Go is a bit of a show-tune. Can’t Get Enuff rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Under One Condition - Winger first major hit. Hell To Pay is absolutely incredible. What sets Who’s The One apart is Winger’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Junkyard Dog (Tears On Stone) is outstanding work of Winger. In Spell I’m Under it becomes nowhere more obvious that Winger has yet to define own style. Voice and instruments in Down Incognito complement each other. On The Inside - A strong beat. Blind Revolution Mad is the most memorable and cool.
