The Essential Collection 1965-1997 (Disc 3) is an amazing album, racked with beauty. While no new The Carpenters album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2002 tour in South America. There is no doubt that The Carpenters has talent. It is very deep stuff - very exciting
This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. When I listen to Only Yesterday in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Solitaire the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Some call Tryin’ To Get The Feeling Again from The Essential Collection 1965-1997 (Disc 3) as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. Good Friends Are For Keeps is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Essential Collection 1965-1997 (Disc 3). Ordinary Fool is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. I hope to keep hearing The Carpenters works for a long time to come. There’s A Kind Of Hush (All Over The World) one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Overall a nice softer song. The opening track From This Moment On is very much like you would expect from other albums. Suntory Pop Jingle 1 - arguably the best track on The Essential Collection 1965-1997 (Disc 3) album. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. I like the idea behind All You Get From Love Is A Love Song. In Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft (The Recognized Anthem Of World Contact Day) full palet of sound is used by The Carpenters to accentuate the presentation. Still going through The Essential Collection 1965-1997 (Disc 3) and coming to appreciate Sweet, Sweet Smile more and more with every listen. I came to like Christ Is Born. White Christmas actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on The Carpenters’s face. Little Altar Boy is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Ave Maria one of the best in my collection.
