There is so much to love about Vicente Fernandez, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. Since completing 2002’s ‘Amor Eterno’, Vicente Fernandez fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This disc has all of the essential Vicente Fernandez classics. Amor Eterno and El Rey is really good.
If you are a Vicente Fernandez fan, you will love El Rey. You can find feelings on this piece of art. Motivos presents the marvelous mix of instruments on Historia De Un Idolo 2. De Parte De Quien one is one of the better boring ones. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Volver, Volver still maintains something of a specific flourish. Que Te Vaya Bonito (2:59) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. After few listenings I started to like Appendiste A Volar more and more. I now have Si Te Vas No Hay Lio as one of my personal favorites. Estatua De Marfil is probably one of Vicente Fernandez’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Que Sepan Todos is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Voice of Vicente Fernandez in Sangre Caliente is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Such hits like Palabra De Rey will leave you hooked. Bohemio De Aficion - arguably the best track on Historia De Un Idolo 2 album. I like to sing along with Sublime Mujer, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Me Caso El Sabado stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Yo Quiero Ser (2:55) a good melody.
