While no new Glassjaw album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2002 tour in South America. This album has some very good songs like Pretty Lush and Siberian Kiss. Lead single “Pretty Lush” and “Siberian Kiss” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. If I may, I suggest “Pretty Lush”. That one song is amazing!
Siberian Kiss is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Ry Ry’s Song is the most memorable and amazing. Lovebites and Razorlines great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.Hurting and Shoving (She Should Have Let Me Sleep) stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Glassjaw offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Her Middle Name Was Boom. I listened to the opening track Piano and liked it a lot. Babe defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Glassjaw’s face. Motel Of The White Locust gives taste of what makes Glassjaw special as a musician.
