Since completing 2002’s ‘Intro’, Mr. Big fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Mr. Big’s debut, ‘In Japan’, does not fit easily into one genre. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Mr. Big’s album In Japan falls to No. 2 with 144,000, a sales slide of 93%. I love this album so much, i’ve been crazy about Mr. Big ever.
Lost In America is nothing but pure genius. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in In Japan. Shine is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Vocals of Mr. Big in Price You Gotta Pay really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. I have all of Mr. Big’s tracks and Superfantastic is probably the most his introspective effort. I love the melodic melody of Alive and Kickin’ and to this day it makes me feel good. Suffocation (7:16) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Blew our minds when we first heard Static. First time I heard Dancin’ With My Devils was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. To Be With You (3:39) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! You can find feelings on this piece of art. Addicted To That Rush was the first single release from the album In Japan. Blame It On My Youth is cool song though, very addictive.
