Judy Garland sings his heart out in Over The Rainbow. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Ding Dong Witch Is Dead catches attention immediately, Follow The Yellow Brick Road is one of the best records ever. If I Only Had A Brain is a very catchy tune. If I Only Had A Heart is possibly the best song Judy Garland has come up. Lyrics of We’re Off To See The Wizard are precise and evocative. If I Only Had A Nerve - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. No Judy Garland song has come close to capturing my attention as Finale did. Overture is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Hollywood Golden Years. Judy Garland has created something that grabs you by the heart and gets you moving. Irish Songn is almost impossible to review. Pretty Girl Milking Her Cow rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Singin’ In The Rain great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. Finale - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Overture is amazing song though, very addictive. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Every Little Movement is the more seemingly obscure song on The Hollywood Golden Years that bear up best to repeated listening. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. When You Think Of Lovin’ Think Of Me is another strong production from Judy Garland. When I Look At You is one of these floating songs. Blew our minds when we first heard When I Look At You. Where There’s Music/Three O’Clock In The Morning/Broadw ay Rhythm as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. Overture is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. What sets Meet Me In St. Louis apart is Judy Garland’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. I can’t stop playing Boy Next Door. Meet Me In St. Louis is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Still going through The Hollywood Golden Years and coming to appreciate Skip To My Lou more and more with every listen. Under The Bamboo Tree which is my favorite is a truly Judy Garland sounding song. Over The Banisters is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. Trolley Song is simple, dignified and effective, Judy Garland refusing to over-emote, and demonstrating that less is more. When I listen to You And I in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. Polka is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Judy Garland ever produced. Polka: Little Brown Jug - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Waltz: Auld Lang Syne - arguably the best track on The Hollywood Golden Years album. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Finale is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot.
