Since Masterplan last CD (Live At Lisebergshallen) on Capitol Records back in 2003, I have felt a massive void in my life. Lead single “Intro / Spirit Never Die” and “Enlighten Me” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Live At Lisebergshallen isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. This is what good Metal: Heavy should be.
Enlighten Me is the albums lead single as well as biggest hit. Crystal Night is such a perfect and optimistic song that things can get just better. Put Heroes into car stereo for your highway driving The song feels complete. I have all of Masterplan’s tracks and Kind Hearted Light is probably the most his introspective effort. Bleeding Eyes the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Crawling From Hell - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Masterplan.
