After debuting at No. 1 last week, Kronos Quartet’s album Caravan falls to No. 2 with 320,000, a sales slide of 90%. Caravan isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Kronos Quartet was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Kronos Quartet and Caravan together. If you love Kronos Quartet as much as I do, then Kronos Quartet Caravan is the CD for you!
Cancao Verdes Anos - This one is lively and fun. When listening to Aaj Ki Raat, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. I listened to the opening track La Muerte Chiquita and liked it a lot. Musically Turceasca is superior to other tracks in Caravan. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Caravan. Cortejo Funebre En El Monte Diablo is the first taste of the new album. Responso is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Romance No. I - I like this one. As always, Kronos Quartet’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Music in Ecstasy is amazing as in all tracks of Caravan. I have all of Kronos Quartet’s tracks and Misirlou Twist is probably the most his introspective effort.
