DJ Jazzy Jeff’s debut, ‘The Magnificent’, does not fit easily into one genre. Since DJ Jazzy Jeff last CD (The Magnificent) on SixSteps records back in 2002, I have felt a massive void in my life. The Magnificent carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. The Magnificent is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
|titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in The Magnificent. DJ Jazzy Jeff is hitting on all cylinders in For Da Love of Da Game feat. P.Yamz & Baby Blak. Within the first few notes of Worldwide Baby Blak & Pauly Yamz it’s perfectly clear that DJ Jazzy Jeff is living this song. How I Do feat. Shawn Stockman (Boys II Men) is the most memorable and amazing. Break It Down feat. J-Live (4:26) a good melody. Rock Wit U Eric Roberson is outstanding work of DJ Jazzy Jeff. Musik Lounge feat. Odyssey is a exquisite, simple song by DJ Jazzy Jeff at the top of his game. Scram feat. Freddie Froxxx one is one of the better boring ones. My People feat. Raheim without a doubt is the standout song of The Magnificent. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Voice of DJ Jazzy Jeff in Love Saviour Flo Brown & Raheim is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Mystery Man feat. The Last Emperor actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on DJ Jazzy Jeff’s face. No DJ Jazzy Jeff song has come close to capturing my attention as We Are feat. Cy Young & Raheim did. All of songs on The Magnificent and have something to say letting alone A Charmed Life feat. J-Live. We Live In Philly feat. Jill Scott (6:36) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. In Time feat. V - For me, this is the best of the album.
