This -song debut EP shows the promise that Cuban Link has. While no new Cuban Link album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2003 tour in Africa. Lead single “The Arrival (Intro)” and “Miles and Swimming” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Overall, I would highly recommend 24K CD.
This is probably my favorite song on the album. Vocals of Cuban Link in Gq’s Intro (Skit) really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. First time I heard For My Real Niggaz was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Project Party (feat. Sunkiss) - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in 24K. Still Telling Lies (feat. Tony Sunshine) is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. Spin-N-Spanish (Skit) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Play How You Want (feat. Pink) - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. 24-Karat as a highlight of 24K contains a ton of excellent melodies. Don’t judge Sing-Sing (Skit) on the first listening. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. Men Of Business (feat. Noreaga Kool G-Rap M.O.P. and Lord Tariq) is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Charming song, great melody. Cuban Sandwich (feat. Remy Martin and Lo-Key) is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Cheat On Her (feat. Big Pun and Carl Thomas) one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Lil’ Link (Skit) is a amazing sing-along. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. From the moment you listen to Dirty Old Men (Skit) you’re hooked. Music of Taste Of Pastry (feat. Triple Seis Prospect and Tony Sunshine) is gentle, never overbearing. After you’ve listened to Cartel (feat. Billy Klubs Raze Korleone Buck 50 Reif Hustle and Don Dinero), most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. The first time I listened to Why Me (feat. Fat Joe) I was struck by its excellent sound. Cuban Link sings his heart out in Dedication. Flowers For The Dead (feat. D’mingo) which is my favorite is a truly Cuban Link sounding song. I like the agression and power of Skit (Bonus). It’s such an underrated song.
