When you buy a Various Artists album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Since Various Artists last CD (Uma Mohan, G. Gayatri Devi - Sacred Chants for StressRelief) on Capitol Records back in 2003, I have felt a massive void in my life. After seeing Vishnustuti - Vishnushodas, I had to have a good Various Artists cd. If I may, I suggest “Vishnustuti - Vishnushodas”. That one song is amazing!
Totakashtakam is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Various Artists ever produced. This song stands out greatly from the others. In Mahishasuramardinistotram you won’t find any flashy solos. The sound in Shivamanasapooja is really warm and Various Artists’s signature voice is still very much present. Mritasanjeevanastotram can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Various Artists is all about. Mrityunjayastotram is possibly the best song Various Artists has come up. Mangalacharan is Various Artists’s best work in years.
