This album has some very good songs like Intro, Pt. 1 (Commander Tom) and Intro, Pt. 2 (Commander Tom). This is the first studio album from Various Artists since bad diagnosis in 2001. nine years ago, Various Artists briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Intro, Pt. 2 (Commander Tom)”. Commander Tom in the Mix, Vol. 5 touched my soul like nothing else.
Intro, Pt. 2 (Commander Tom) good vocals. This is one hell of a track. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Commander Tom in the Mix, Vol. 5 is Dooms Night [Timo Maas Remix] (Azzido DaBass). This song stands out greatly from the others. After about the third Steroids [Oliver Lieb Remix] (Psilocybin) listen through, I began to believe this song is Various Artists’s essence. Mooh York [Club Mix] (Commander Tom/M. Dix Baby) is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. I have all of Various Artists’s tracks and 1999 [Original Mix] (Gaetano Parisio) is probably the most his introspective effort. Human Animal [Club Mix] (Strobe) - isn’t quite as powerful vocally, but has a beautiful melody. Needlehopper [Club Mix] (Monika Kruse) is one of the coolest songs Various Artists has ever recorded. Various Artists emotions are reflected through Optical Way [Extended Mix] (Rino Cerrone). Plaect [Club Mix] (Luygi Van) is pretty funky and mellow. It’s such an underrated song. Cell V 1 [Club Mix] (Mhonocell) is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Various Artists ever produced. Reaction of Graf [Original Mix] (Massimo) has a fun tempo. So much energy, so exciting a sound.I loved Elastic [Club Mix] (Michael Burkat) the first time I heard it. In Ghost [Original Mix] (Niklas Ehrlin/Patrik Skoog) the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. First time I heard Twilo Sensation [Extended Mix] (Cef New Yorker) was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.I hope to keep hearing Various Artists works for a long time to come. Hawaii Blue [Heiko Laux Mix] (Christian Morgenstern) is one of my favorite songs by Various Artists.
