On Virtuoso No. 2 album, Joe Pass have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. ‘Virtuoso No. 2′ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This is the first studio album from Joe Pass since bad diagnosis in 2002. Enjoy the show.
Five Hundred Miles High - This one is lively and fun. All of songs on Virtuoso No. 2 and have something to say letting alone Grooveyard. Misty as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Blues for O.P. pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. On Green Dolphin Street one of the best in my collection. Still going through Virtuoso No. 2 and coming to appreciate Windows more and more with every listen. Blues for Basie make listening to Joe Pass like being in some sort of time warp. Feelings is another favourite of mine. If - A classic Joe Pass track. Limehouse Blues is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Virtuoso No. 2 have ended.
