This is the first studio album from Elis Regina since bad diagnosis in 2002. After seeing O Barquinho, I had to have a good Elis Regina cd. Jim Jones has compared writing for Elis Regina’s new album to that on ‘Sucessos inesqueciveis (cd4)’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. One of Elis Regina’s best albums yet.
If you are a Elis Regina fan, you will love Saudosa Maloca (ao vivo). Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Bala com Bala is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. Amor Ate o Fim is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Put Meio de Campo into car stereo for your highway driving In this song fans will recognize the unique vocals of Elis Regina. O Rancho da Goiabada Construcao (ao vivo) is a great opener for Sucessos inesqueciveis (cd4). Morro Velho - To me, this is the best song on the Sucessos inesqueciveis (cd4). I’ve found myself listening to Dinorah Dinorah back to back and back many times. Voice of Elis Regina in Conversando no BarTrack 11 is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. 20 Anos Blue is, without a doubt, my favorite song, ever. Aquarela do Brasil Nega do Cabelo Duro (ao vivo) is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. I hope to keep hearing Elis Regina works for a long time to come.
