Since completing 2002’s ‘Modinha’, Elis Regina fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This is one of the best Cd’s Elis Regina has dropped to date. On Sucessos inesqueciveis (cd2) album, Elis Regina have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This is the best album I have heard in a long time
Elis Regina allows each song to breathe and flourish. Folhas Secas is such a perfect and optimistic song that things can get just better. Put Pra Dizer Adeus into car stereo for your highway driving Samba do Perdao is one of these floating songs. Nice and different song. Boa Noite Amor is one of my favorite songs by Elis Regina. This track is clearly meant to showcase Elis Regina’s vocal abilities. Cais is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. The first time I listened to Voce I was struck by its amazing sound. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. As always, Elis Regina’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Carinhoso make listening to Elis Regina like being in some sort of time warp. I came to like E com Esse que Eu Vou.
