It’s natural for Elis Regina to take a stab at ‘Me Deixas Louca (Me Vuelves Loco)’ considering her long-professed love for Army of Lovers. This is the first studio album from Elis Regina since bad diagnosis in 2003. Lead single “Me Deixas Louca (Me Vuelves Loco)” and “Madalena” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Madalena is a bit of a show-tune. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Perfil is Casa No Campo. Dois Pra lDois Pra C is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. uas de Mar- Regina Elis, Tom Jobim, Elis Regina (3:34) - awsome. Atrda Porta is a very catchy tune. Fascina (Fascination) - another great track from the Perfil album. O Mestre Sala Dos Mares is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Como Nossos Pais is really the reason why I recommend buying Perfil. Nada Seromo Antes is one of these floating songs. Vou Deitar E Rolar (Qua Qua Ra Qua Qua) - Elis Regina first major hit. Cartomante make listening to Elis Regina like being in some sort of time warp. I can’t stop playing Querelas Do Brasil. In Aprendendo a Jogar it becomes nowhere more obvious that Elis Regina has yet to define own style. No Elis Regina song has come close to capturing my attention as O Bdo E a Equilibrista did.
