Since completing 2002’s ‘Somewhere Com Elis E O Quarteto No’, Elis Regina fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Sambou Sambou Com Zimbo Trio is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. Telefone Com Elis E Os Cariocas has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Elis Regina has astounded me with this amazing track. Mas Que Nada Com Elis E Quinteto is outstanding work of Elis Regina. Se Acaso Voce Chegasse/ Sufixo is such a exquisite and optimistic song that things can get just better. This track is just a stunning masterpiece. The opening track Pout Pourri De Carlos Lyra Com Elis, Jair is very much like you would expect from other albums. Elis Recebe Adoniran Barbosa one is one of the better boring ones. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music.
