It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Yo La Tengo energies, virtually a rebirth. Since Yo La Tengo last CD (And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out) on Blue Note Records back in 2000, I have felt a massive void in my life. Yo La Tengo’s debut, ‘And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out’, does not fit easily into one genre. And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out is not something you should pass up.
When I listen to Our Way to Fall in my car when traffic ain’t going so good. I now have Saturday as one of my personal favorites. Let’s Save Tony Orlando’s House is one of the best records ever. Last Days of Disco is a fine track on any terms. Crying of Lot G (4:42) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! You Can Have It All - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Tears Are in Your Eyes - This is a very lively song. Cherry Chapstick - This one is lively and fun. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Listening to Madeline you can hear that Yo La Tengo has still amazing chemistry with band members. Tired Hippo - Okay, I just talked about depth.
