After seeing Penny Dreadful, I had to have a good Skyclad cd. Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Skyclad’s new album to that on ‘No Daylights Nor Heeltaps’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. ‘No Daylights Nor Heeltaps’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Cool, but I like their other actual stuff better like No Daylights Nor Heeltaps.
Inequalty Street is possibly the best song Skyclad has come up. Spinning Jenny is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. I have all of Skyclad’s tracks and The Cry Of The Land is probably the most his introspective effort. Another Fine Mess is one of the best records ever. Sins Of Emmission gives good insight into the truths. The Widdershins Jig is exquisite work of Skyclad. History Lessons is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Land Of The Rising Slum - This one makes me want to not only sing along. What sets Single Phial apart is Skyclad’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres.
