There is no doubt that Mortification has talent. Self-described as Metal with lots of words, Mortification comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. Lead single “A Pearl” and “At The War With War (97 Demo Version)” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is what good Metal should be.
At The War With War (97 Demo Version) was the first single release from the album Hammer Of God. D.W.A.M. is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Extreme Conditions can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Mortification is all about. In God Rulz Mortification is at his best. Hammer Of God gives taste of what makes Mortification special as a musician. In The Woods one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. I now have Liberal Mediocrity as one of my personal favorites. Lock Up The Night is a fine track on any terms. Martyrs is the first taste of the new album. Medley is the albums biggest surprise. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Metal Crusade (Instrumental Version) from the beginning to the end. Metal Crusade is a cool, simple song by Mortification at the top of his game. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Ride The Light because the melody in the chorus is so good. Unified Truth (97 Demo Version) still maintains something of a specific flourish. Visited By An Angel (97 Demo Version) is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through Hammer Of God.
