Now signed to Michel Legrand’s Sparrow Records, the title track from second album “Windmills of Your Mind: the Very Best of Michel Legrand” leads Michel Legrand’s back-to-school campaign. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Michel Legrand energies, virtually a rebirth. There is so much to love about Michel Legrand, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. This album is in perfect progression from Michel Legrand!
Where Love Begins is a medium tempo tune. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think They Simply Fade Away is my favorite song on Windmills of Your Mind: the Very Best of Michel Legrand. Street Where They Lived is really a nice song to relax and listen too. No Michel Legrand song has come close to capturing my attention as Old Lovers Never Die did. The sound of On The Road is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. Windmills Of Your Mind is the most memorable and astounding. Concerto For Cabs - A catchy, upbeat tune. Do You Come Here Often is a bit different from Michel Legrand stereotypical stuff. In Love With Normandy hits the heart. Paris Was Made For Lovers actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Michel Legrand’s face. Pavane For People is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Charming song, great melody. Within the first few notes of Sea And Sky - Legrand, Michel & Dusty Springfield it’s perfectly clear that Michel Legrand is living this song. Place In Paris - Legrand, Michel & Matt Monro is another favourite of mine. I Still See You is the exquisite blend of moody yet optimistic tunes.
