On The Message album, Mfg have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Lead single “Megamix 2000″ and “Have A Nice Day” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This is the first studio album from Mfg since bad diagnosis in 2000. The Message is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Musically Have A Nice Day is superior to other tracks in The Message. The song feels complete. Brainwaves is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Walking On Ice is a very catchy tune. I like to sing along with Feel Like God(New Version), though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Rise and Fall - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. In Welcome To The Edge it becomes nowhere more obvious that Mfg has yet to define own style. One listen to the sheer beauty of Dark Waters was all I needed. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion.
