After seeing Daily Growl, I had to have a good Lambchop cd. When you buy a Lambchop album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Lead single “Daily Growl” and “New Cobweb Summer” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. IF you love Lambchop, ‘Is A Woman’ Mp3’s is the best!
In New Cobweb Summer the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. My Blue Wave is the more seemingly obscure song on Is A Woman that bear up best to repeated listening. I Can Hardly Spell My Name is another favourite of mine. Autumn’s Vicar stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Flick is a strong cut, one of many. |titile| is the kind of record that makes you remember why music can be so addictive. D. Scott Parsley - A catchy, upbeat tune. Bugs can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Lambchop is all about. Old Matchbook Trick - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Is a Woman is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. A great put together song. Voice of Lambchop in The Distance from Her to There is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant.
