IF YOU LIKE ALL Jaco Pastorius’S SONG GO FOR IT! On the Belgium charts, superstar Jaco Pastorius’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. seven years ago, Jaco Pastorius briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “The Dry Cleaner From Des Moines (Live, 1979)”. This is what good Jazz should be.
The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. In Goodbye Pork Pie Hat Jaco Pastorius is at his best. In Layals it becomes nowhere more obvious that Jaco Pastorius has yet to define own style. Sunday is really a nice song to relax and listen too. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Nativity is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Birdland is one of the best records ever. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. Midwestern Nights Dream is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Punk Jazz: The Jaco Pastorius Anthology (cd1). Amelia (Live, 1972) is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. I Can Dig It Baby is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Batterie has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Jaco Pastorius’s strong vocals come to the fore. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Continuum is my favorite song on Punk Jazz: The Jaco Pastorius Anthology (cd1).
