Home Grown was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from Home Grown and Kings Of Pop together. Since completing 2002’s ‘Tomorrow’, Home Grown fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This disc has all of the essential Home Grown classics. I wish that “Kings Of Pop” album was instrumental.
What sets I Love You, Not apart is Home Grown’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Give It Up is one of the best records ever. In Kiss Me, Diss Me the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. I came to like You’re Not Alone. I’ll Never Fall In Love is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Second Best on Kings Of Pop is solid and easy to listen to. After few listenings I started to like Why Won’t You Leave Me? more and more. The beautiful sound of this track makes you want to close your eyes and sway away with the music. |titile| is quite refreshing and sets the tone for what is going on in Kings Of Pop. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. So much energy, so exciting a sound.
