There is so much to love about Dark Moor, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. It’s natural for Dark Moor to take a stab at ‘In The Heart Of Stone’ considering her long-professed love for Azymuth. ‘The Gates Of Oblivion’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. This album is in perfect progression from Dark Moor!
Nice and different song. The Gates Of Oblivion is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after The Gates Of Oblivion have ended. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Nevermore. I like to sing along with Starsmaker (Elbereth), though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Some of the arrangements found on The Gates Of Oblivion are surprisingly edgy. Best song on the album, love it. The Night Of The Age motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. Only one song from The Gates Of Oblivion named Your Symphony really got me. Vocals of Dark Moor in The Citadel Of The Light really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think A Truth For Me is my favorite song on The Gates Of Oblivion. Dies Irae (Amadeus) is probably the highlight of the album. The Shadow Of The Nile is the albums biggest surprise.
