Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Chuck Brown on ‘Bustin’ Loose’. This album has some very good songs like Bustin’ Loose and Back It On Up (Sho’ Ya Right). It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Chuck Brown energies, virtually a rebirth. This is my first Chuck Brown Album and i must say i am blown away.
Back It On Up (Sho’ Ya Right) one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. I love the melodic melody of We Need Some Money and to this day it makes me feel good. It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Don’t Have The Go Go Swing) is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. I like Midnight Sun because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Moody’s Mood - Chuck Brown first major hit. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Woody Woodpecker. Run Joe is a gorgeous sing-along. Album opener Stormy Monday is a bright, upbeat ditty. Misty is really the reason why I recommend buying Chuck Brown - Greatest Hits. Music and lyrics of My Funny Valentine/I Can Make You Go Oooh creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming.
