This disc has all of the essential Nightfall classics. Nightfall’s debut, ‘I Am Jesus’, does not fit easily into one genre. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Nightfall on ‘Death Of Neira’. Check it every song is worth the money for the I Am Jesus CD!
The Senior Lover Of Diamanda is probably the most interesting track on I Am Jesus. Nightfall is one of artists that allow his songs like I Am Jesus to stand on their own and be heard. Pale Crescendo Of Diamond Suns is probably one of Nightfall’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. In Luciferin (What If Men Could Bear Masters) the music gets its power. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. The Poor Us is another favourite of mine. I’ve Never Dreamt The Life We Share is really the reason why I recommend buying I Am Jesus. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is Treasures In Aramaic Tears (Echelon) because the melody in the chorus is so good. Semana Tragica presents the marvelous mix of instruments on I Am Jesus. In Nightfall Nightfall is at his best.
