Lead single “I’m 9 Today” and “Smell Memory” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Mum had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album has some very good songs like I’m 9 Today and Smell Memory. This album is a scorcher!
Smell Memory sets the tone for the entire album. There Is a Number of Small Thi is worth the money. Random Summer is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I hope to keep hearing Mum works for a long time to come. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Yesterday Was Dramatic - Today is Awake on a Train. The Ballad of the Broken Birdi is the funkiest number on the album. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Sunday Night Just Keeps on Rol is gorgeous and different song. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy.
