It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Lynda Lemay energies, virtually a rebirth. Since Lynda Lemay last CD (Nos Reves) on Blue Note Records back in 2001, I have felt a massive void in my life. four years ago, Lynda Lemay briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Il Y Aura Toujours”. IT makes me wanna dance!
It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Il Y Aura Toujours, which shows, blatantly, how much Lynda Lemay has evolved as a singer. Femme D’un ‘Sex Symbol’ is a amazing sing-along. Voice and instruments in Je Parle Flou complement each other. Strong, powerful vocals of Lynda Lemay in L’adolescent X are very impressive. One listen to the sheer beauty of Nos Reves was all I needed. L’abri had me crying as I was able to relate so well. Le Petit Mot is nothing but pure genius. Lynda Lemay is one of artists that allow his songs like La Veilleuse to stand on their own and be heard. Opening track Madame Brigitte Belanger shows the best of Lynda Lemay. Jolie Prison is probably the highlight of the album.
