Since Lynda Lemay last CD (Du Coq A L’ame) on EMI Records back in 2000, I have felt a massive void in my life. Since completing 2000’s ‘Un Truc De Passag’, Lynda Lemay fulfilled their contract with EMI Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Lynda Lemay has. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
This song may be the most meaningful. Get Du Coq A L’ame and turn on J ai Battu Ma Fill if you are going to sip your wine late at night. Simple and heartfelt closing track La Lune Et Le Mie closes Du Coq A L’ame on a high note. Du Coq A L’ame couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Je Suis Grand. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Du Coq A L’ame. Within the first few notes of Mon No it’s perfectly clear that Lynda Lemay is living this song. I believe Bande De Degonfle is one of the most exquisite, heartfelt songs ever written. First time I heard Ailleur was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing.Les Mains Vide - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is Grond. La Place Au Sous-Sol is nothing but pure genius. Les Maudits Francai is astounding.
