This album has some very good songs like Das Lied vom Sonntag and Vor Gericht. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Karl Valentin energies, virtually a rebirth. Now signed to Karl Valentin’s Columbia Records, the title track from second album “Gesamtausgabe Ton (CD3)” leads Karl Valentin’s back-to-school campaign. If I may, I suggest “Das Lied vom Sonntag”. That one song is amazing!
Only one song from Gesamtausgabe Ton (CD3) named Vor Gericht really got me. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Semmelnkndeln from the beginning to the end. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. ble Angewohnheiten has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Wappenkunde am Stammtisch is a cool song and it grows on you. Die verfluchte Hobelmaschine - For me, this is the best of the album. This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Gesamtausgabe Ton (CD3). Die Menschenfresser on Gesamtausgabe Ton (CD3) is solid and easy to listen to. Still going through Gesamtausgabe Ton (CD3) and coming to appreciate Die Fremden more and more with every listen. Sonderbarer Appell is a exquisite sing-along. Silberne Hochzeit is a bit different from Karl Valentin stereotypical stuff. Schwieriger Kuhhandel is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. rompetenunterricht which is my favorite is a truly Karl Valentin sounding song. I like the idea behind Beim Zahnarzt. I have all of Karl Valentin’s tracks and Die Auskunft (Schwierige Auskunft) is probably the most his introspective effort. Der berngstliche Hausverkufer - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Karl Valentin.
