There is so much to love about Give Up The Ghost, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Give Up The Ghost energies, virtually a rebirth. This disc has all of the essential Give Up The Ghost classics. Exciting stuff.
We’re Down ‘Til We’re Underground couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Love American. I can’t stop playing Young Hearts Be Free Tonight. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Give Up The Ghost. Voice of Give Up The Ghost in Calculation-Nation is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. The Last Supper After Party stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Crime Scene is a marvelous song and it grows on you. Bluem one is one of the better boring ones. AEIOU (2:53) - awsome. Crush Of The Year is a very catchy tune. The sound in No Lotion Could Ever Unclog These Pores is really warm and Give Up The Ghost’s signature voice is still very much present. We Killed It - A catchy, upbeat tune. (It’s Sometimes Like It Never End) is nothing but pure genius.
