Since Bronco last CD (Un Golpe Mas) on Sparrow Records back in 2003, I have felt a massive void in my life. It’s natural for Bronco to take a stab at ‘Hechicera [Cumbia]’ considering her long-professed love for Ultra Dolphins. On Un Golpe Mas album, Bronco have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. One of Bronco’s best albums yet.
As always, Bronco’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Don’t judge Con la Puerta Abierta (Chicana) on the first listening. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it. Que le Tiramos [Balada] has a fun tempo. Para Que Vivas Tranquila is another favourite of mine. Bronco must have run out of lyrics on the next track Rega [Cumbia]. Ya No Viene [Balada] presents the excellent mix of instruments on Un Golpe Mas. Golpe Mas (Chicana) is the song that really did it for me. Strong, powerful vocals of Bronco in Se Termina [Cumbia] are very impressive. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Chupeton [Merequetengue]. Piedra y Diamante [Cumbia] - A nice song.
