On Les Risques Du Metier album, Benabar have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. While no new Benabar album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 2003 tour in Asia. If I may, I suggest “Monospace”. That one song is amazing!
Dis-Lui Oui make listening to Benabar like being in some sort of time warp. Parasseuse is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. Je Suis de Celles one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Vade Retro Telephone gives taste of what makes Benabar special as a musician. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Sac a Main on Les Risques Du Metier is solid and easy to listen to. Station Mir is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined. Benabar allows each song to breathe and flourish. You have to get essence of the Mots d’Amour’s power, to truly understand this masterpiece. A great put together song. Zoo de Vincennes pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Le Slow (Bonus) is the funkiest number on the album.
