Ska Party carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This is one of the best Cd’s Bad Manners has dropped to date. On Ska Party album, Bad Manners have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Oh yes, this album gets Array out of Array
Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Weeping and Wailing. In Teddy Bears Picnic Bad Manners is at his best. Within the first few notes of Special Brew it’s perfectly clear that Bad Manners is living this song. One listen to the sheer beauty of Skaville UK was all I needed. I like the agression and power of Show me the way home. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Samson and Delilah is my favorite song on Ska Party. Oh , I do like to be beside the seaside gets you up and jumping. Simple and heartfelt closing track Lorraine closes Ska Party on a high note. Music and lyrics of My Girl Lollipop (My Boy Lollypop) creates, for me, fertile ground for daydreaming. Lip up fatty - ne-ne-na-na-na-na-nu-nu makes a person feel astounding. This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Just a feeling as a highlight of Ska Party contains a ton of astounding melodies. I’m a Mummy to me is the best you can get from Bad Manners. I don’t care great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.I’ve found myself listening to Hoots mon back to back and back many times. Hokey Cokey - This is a very lively song. Once you hear Hi Ho Silver Lining, you will listen to it over and over. Fatty Fatty which is my favorite is a truly Bad Manners sounding song. In Cider Drinker the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Musically Can Can is superior to other tracks in Ska Party. Still going through Ska Party and coming to appreciate Can Can - Buster’s Groove more and more with every listen. Black Night is pretty funky and mellow.
