Lead single “Rune” and “Black Helicopters” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. When you buy a Abdullah album, you know exactly what you’re getting! Now signed to Abdullah’s ForeFront Records, the title track from second album “Graveyard Poetry” leads Abdullah’s back-to-school campaign. Overall, I would highly recommend Graveyard Poetry CD.
Black Helicopters - A catchy, upbeat tune. A Dark But Shining Sun has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets Abdullah’s strong vocals come to the fore. The Whimper Of Whipped Dogs is a striking and quite long song. Deprogramed pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Pantheistic as a highlight of Graveyard Poetry contains a ton of cool melodies. I listened to the opening track Beyond The Mountain and liked it a lot. Salamander stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Strange Benedictions is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Secret Teachings Of Lost Ages is a astounding sing-along. Dmedicine Man is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. Guided By The Spirit is a medium tempo tune. Behold A Pale Horse is one of the best records ever. In They, The Tyrants the music gets its power.
