Self-described as Metal: Alternative with lots of words, 16 Volt comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. 16 Volt was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from 16 Volt and Whisper Cure together. ‘Whisper Cure’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. I wish that “Whisper Cure” album was instrumental.
Alkali is a strong cut, one of many. The Dreams that Rot in Your Heart on Whisper Cure is solid and easy to listen to. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Wisdom is a bit of a show-tune. Outside of the singles, my favorite song on Whisper Cure is Dont Pray. 16 Volt must have run out of lyrics on the next track Two Wires Thin. Perfectly Fake has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets 16 Volt’s strong vocals come to the fore. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in Whisper Cure. In Suffering You it becomes nowhere more obvious that 16 Volt has yet to define own style.
