It’s natural for Venetian Snares to take a stab at ‘Dad’ considering her long-professed love for Ondskapt. This disc has all of the essential Venetian Snares classics. When you buy a Venetian Snares album, you know exactly what you’re getting! I greatly enjoyed this CD.
Stairs Song motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. No Venetian Snares song has come close to capturing my attention as Tattoo did. Gottrahmen (3:07) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! Suffocate have really caught my ear and imagination. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: January, which shows, blatantly, how much Venetian Snares has evolved as a singer. Lyrics of Crawlspace are precise and evocative. Venetian Snares has astounded me with this amazing track. In She it becomes nowhere more obvious that Venetian Snares has yet to define own style. Cashew - A classic Venetian Snares track. Fraujager is another favourite of mine. Warm Body - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. Icosikaipent is the albums biggest surprise. Still going through Winter In The Belly Of A Snake and coming to appreciate Earth more and more with every listen.
