IF YOU LIKE ALL Thelonious Monk’S SONG GO FOR IT! Criss-Cross isn’t so much a record, as a great effort at dragging you into another world. Since completing 2003’s ‘Hackensack’, Thelonious Monk fulfilled their contract with Virgin Records and where under no obligation to release another album. If I may, I suggest “Hackensack”. That one song is amazing!
Thelonious Monk allows each song to breathe and flourish. Criss-Cross is absolutely incredible. What sets Eronel apart is Thelonious Monk’s innovative and organic way of creating atmospheres. Once Rhythm-A-Ning gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Don’t Blame Me was the first single release from the album Criss-Cross. Think Of One is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Crepuscule With Nelie - For me, this is the best of the album. When I listen to Pannonica in my car when traffic ain’t going so good.
