It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of The String Quartet energies, virtually a rebirth. Since The String Quartet last CD (Oceans: The String Quartet Tri) on Savoy Records back in 2001, I have felt a massive void in my life. On Oceans: The String Quartet Tri album, The String Quartet have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. If you want to hear real New Age, get this record now!
Song Wild Child is actually a funny song. When listening to Boadicea, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Musically Storms In Africa is superior to other tracks in Oceans: The String Quartet Tri. Caribbean Blue the elegant and beautiful song on the album is hard to describe. Tempus Vernum defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. The Memory Of Trees gets you up and jumping. Lazy Days is one of the more up-tempo songs on Oceans: The String Quartet Tri. Excellent vocals and musical performances. Cursum Perficio is the albums biggest surprise. China Roses is the more seemingly obscure song on Oceans: The String Quartet Tri that bear up best to repeated listening. This track is full of harmonies and gets Oceans: The String Quartet Tri off to a relaxing start.
