The Eels was a flawless and timeless record. Not surprising from The Eels and Souljacker together. There is no doubt that The Eels has talent. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by The Eels. To me The Eels is the best band ever.
That’s Not Really Funny still maintains something of a specific flourish. Fresh Feeling is probably the most interesting track on Souljacker. Album opener Woman Driving, Man Sleeping is a bright, upbeat ditty. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Only one song from Souljacker named Friendly Ghost really got me. Teenage Witch has a fun tempo. The Eels breathes new life into the music in Bus Stop Boxer. Jungle Telegraph is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. In World of Shit the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Souljacker, Pt. 2 is nothing but pure genius. No The Eels song has come close to capturing my attention as What Is This Note? did.
