On Oh What A Beautiful Morning album, The Eels have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. Since The Eels last CD (Oh What A Beautiful Morning) on Columbia Records back in 2000, I have felt a massive void in my life. The Eels had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album is in perfect progression from The Eels!
Overture is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Oh What A Beautiful Morning is really the reason why I recommend buying Oh What A Beautiful Morning. Abortion In The Sky is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. This song could easily nestle itself onto the world top playlists. Fucker great lyrics, dark, deep, angry and cool.I was truly moved when I heard Ant Farm. Climbing To The Moon very upbeat. No The Eels song has come close to capturing my attention as Grace Kelly Blues did. Daisies Of The Galaxy - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. The Eels sings Flyswatter in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. The Eels must have run out of lyrics on the next track Vice President Fruitley. Hot and Cold is the albums biggest surprise. A fantastic track full of wonder. Not Ready Yet marked the continuation of The Eels in style evolution. The Eels breathes new life into the music in Susan’s House. Something Is Sacred is a good listen every once in a while.
