On the England charts, superstar Stephane Pompougnac’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. It has been fourteen years Stephane Pompougnac’ last studio CD, “Hotel Costes 6″ which won Array Emmy� Awards and was nominated for album of the year. There is so much to love about Stephane Pompougnac, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Song Emmanuel Santarromana - Metropolitan is actually a funny song. Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Some call Tosca - Rolf Royce from Hotel Costes 6 as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. As always, Stephane Pompougnac’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Barbara Mendes - Got To Be In Love (Dub Mix) is filled with very deep emotions that will truly touch your heart. Minus 8 - Snowblind is absolutely incredible. Dutch Rhythm Combo - Come On (Sket Remix) is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. Charming song, great melody. Stephane Pompougnac sings Spiro Project - Bluesless (Radio Mix) in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Some of the arrangements found on Hotel Costes 6 are surprisingly edgy. Grand Palace - Party s On - This one is lively and fun. Doctor Jazz s Universal Remedy - Un Monde Sans Frime have really caught my ear and imagination.
